News : Middle East Who Is Abdulaziz Al-Mohammadavi, the New Head of Iran-Backed Militias in Iran?

News : Middle East Who Is Abdulaziz Al-Mohammadavi, the New Head of Iran-Backed Militias in Iran?

At dawn on January 3, Abu-Mahdi al-Muhandis, fugitive deputy commander of Iran-backed militias in Iraq, was killed along with the commander of the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards Quds Force (IRGC-QF) Qassem Soleimani in a precise U.S. drone attack.
After 50 days, the Iranian regime’s mercenaries agreed on Abdulaziz Al-Mohammadavi as the successor to al-Muhandis. In this respect, who is al-Mohammadavi, known by Abu-Fadak nickname among Iraqi forces loyal to Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Iranian regime?
The Popular Mobilization Forces [Hashd al-Shaabi] is a part of Khamenei’s armed forces in Iraq which was founded in 2014. “The chief of Iraqi Basij assembly Aqil al-Hussaini described Hashd al-Shaabi as the trail of Iran’s Basij, which has benefited from experiences of the Iranian version’s one. ‘In the Iraqi Basij structure, we modeled on the Iranian Basij,’ [then-Iran-backed] Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki told ABNA news agency in August 2015,’” the Iranian state-run website Tabnak wrote on the same date.
This force has consisted of about 40 different groups, which are generally Shiite armed militias. Many of these groups already operated terrorist attacks against the Coalition Forces on the behalf of the IRGC-QF in Iraq. These militants have a notorious track record of mass killing against religious minorities with total impunity.
In September 2015, the ayatollahs’ Iraqi murderers were eventually recognized as a part of Iraqi government forces, according to the Iran-backed prime minister Heidar al-Ebadi.
  • Militias allied to the Iraqi government have access to arms from at least 17 countries
  • Recent arms transfers have fuelled enforced disappearances, abductions, torture, summary killings, and deliberate destruction of civilian property
  • Iraq is the world’s sixth-largest importer of heavy weaponry
Amnesty International highlighted in its report on January 5, 2017.
Who is Abu-Fadak?
Abdulaziz al-Mohammadavi is also known by Al-Khal, which means uncle in Arabic. He had a long-time friendship with the slain former chief of the IRGC-QF Qassem Soleimani.
Since 1982, he joined the terrorist Badr organization commanded by Hadi al-Ameri. During the eight-year Iran-Iraq war, as al-Ameri’s assistant, al-Mohammadavi conducted intelligence operations to the benefit of the Iranian regime. He also served as an intelligence agent for the Badr organization in the Kurdistan region.
In 2004, Abu-Fadak refused to have over weapons that his group had amassed during the U.S. invasion on Iraq and kept them for orchestrating terror plots against the Coalition Forces. In this respect, he was ordered by Tehran to organize several terror squads under the Badr’s financial support.
In the same year, Soleimani, the secretary-general of Lebanese Hezbollah, and al-Muhandis incited al-Mohammadavi to establish a joint force. Thereafter, he founded the Iraqi version of Lebanese Hezbollah under the name of “Kata'ib Hezbollah (KH)” in cooperation with another known terrorist Imad al-Muqnieh. This terrorist entity still receives its funds and wages from Hadi al-Ameri directly. Later, the U.S. troops detained him and held in jail for a time, however, the integrators didn’t discover al-Mohammadavi’s real identity. At the time, he became more commonly known by the al-Khal nickname.
Then, in 2006, al-Mohammadavi widened his collaborations with al-Muhandis and received his order from Qassem Soleimani directly. Alhurra.com recently revealed that Hadi al-Ameri suggested his lieutenant ‘al-Khal’ to succeed al-Muhandis.

Al-Mohammadavi’s Role in Hostage Taking Qatari Hunters in Iraq

In December 2015, KH commanded by al-Mohammadavi abducted 26 Qatari hunters, several from the Qatari Emir’s royal family. Notably, al-Mohammadavi’s superiors pursued to gain political privileges in return for the handover of the hostages. However, al-Khal sought to receive $500 million in exchange for releasing hunters.
Some while later, after the scandal became public, other KH commanders fired al-Mohammadavi for abusing his authority. The Iranian decision-makers of KH finally freed the hostages in return for stopping Qatar’s support for Syrian dissidents. Qatar both delivered $500 million and persuaded its sponsored forces in Syria to deliver their territory lands to Assad’s regime.
Remarkably, Soleimani attempted to whitewash the flagrant scandal and cease tensions in the KH hierarchy. However, his efforts failed and KH commanders expelled Abu-Fadak out of the group. But, after the start of the October Revolution in Iraq, al-Mohammadavi rejoined to the KH for a crackdown on the protesters under the direct order of Soleimani.
In summary, it is worth noting that Abdulaziz al-Mohammadavi, Abu-Fadak, al-Khal, or any other nickname he possesses, is appointed by Tehran as the successor of slain Abu-Mahdi al-Muhandis. This matter shows the scale of Iran’s influence in Iraqi affairs and its path for committing any crime for preserving this country while the regime is severely dealing with breathtaking crises in different sectors at the home

MEK Encourages Fellow Dissidents to Boycott Elections

MEK Encourages Fellow Dissidents to Boycott Elections

Iranian dissidents, like the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), are encouraging their fellow citizens to boycott the upcoming elections as a way of showing the hard-line regime exactly how little they are supported and respected by the people.
The MEK wrote: “The Supreme Leader of the Iranian regime will be welcoming these elections because it gives him an opportunity to oust all those that oppose him.”
After all, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei instructed the Guardian Council to reject the candidacies of many from the reformist faction, headed by the regime's President Hassan Rouhani, including 90 sitting MPs.
Considering that all Iranian politicians have to swear an oath of loyalty to Khamenei anyway and anyone who opposes the regime is barred from standing, you can see there is not much opposition for him to squash in the first place.
The MEK told Iranians that rather than vote in a rigged election, they should instead work to overthrow the malign mullahs and their inhumane regime.
While the opposition leader Maryam Rajavi said that it was Iranians’ patriotic duty to boycott the sham elections, which will show support for the over 1,500 martyrs killed by the regime’s security forces during the November 2019 uprising in Iran. The MEK leader said that this would also show support for all those people who took part in the January uprisings with the goal of overthrowing the regime.
Many Iranians highlighted that activism in Iran is already on the rise, with the people longing to overthrow the “corrupt and criminal regime”, and planning to boycott the election en-masse. Although it is likely that the Iranian regime will cover this up, given that they have previously reported ludicrously high voter turnouts, it will still send a clear message of defiance to those in charge.
One activist from Tehran, identified only as Kaveh, said the people are “eager” to rid the world of the mullahs.
Via text, Kaveh said that the point of elections is for a populace that trusts in democratic processes to elect a democratic government. But given that the regime is “fascist”, the people do not have confidence in the democratic process and despise the regime.
He said that the regime is wrongly calling it an election in order to project legitimacy to the world and that anti-regime activism is only increasing as public anger increases.
The MEK said that the regime is “showing signs of weakening”, especially with the ridiculous crackdown on who can and cannot stand for elections, highlighting this as proof that the regime is unstable and its end is near.
MEK leader Rajavi said that Khamenei is trying to cram the “backward-looking” parliament with loyalists because he thinks that closing ranks are the solution to the present crisis.
The MEK wrote: “Whether he succeeds or not, it has got to the point now that the clerical regime doesn’t have any way out and cannot hold off being overthrown for much longer.”
The international community should stand with the MEK and call out the regime’s sham election for what it is.

Women with contagious diseases held among other prisoners in Qarchak

Women with contagious diseases held among other prisoners in Qarchak

Over 130 inmates suffer from AIDs, Hepatitis and scabies

According to prisoners recently released from Qarchak Prison, women with contagious diseases are held in the general wards.
More than 130 women detained in Qarchak Prison suffer from AIDs and Hepatitis, but they are held in various wards among other prisoners. There are also six prisoners suffering from scabies who are held with other prisoners, instead of being kept in the quarantine.

Prison authorities fail to separate sick prisoners

Prisoners have time and again asked prison authorities to detain prisoners suffering from contagious diseases in a separate section.
Scabies is a very contagious disease which could be transferred by shaking hands, using a contaminated sheet, or even touching the clothes of the contaminated prisoner. But prison authorities have told prisoners that scabies is not contagious!
Qarchak Prison authorities have closed down the quarantine ward. As a result, new prisoners directly enter the wards without being tested for AIDs, Hepatitis, and other contagious diseases. Even if they are tested, they are admitted into the general wards regardless of their positive or negative results. Despite prisoners’ warnings to prison authorities including Mehdi Mohammadi, the warden of Qarchak, and other officers in charge like Sakineh Shah Cheraqi, Zahra Mirzaii, and Maryam Mirzaii, they have not taken any action to separate the sick prisoners from others.

Imprisoned mothers

One of the most tragic conditions is that of mothers who have their children imprisoned with them. Lack of access to suitable clothes for children and unsanitary conditions of the wards are only a small part of the problems mothers face in prison. In February 2019, prison guards raided these prisoners. As they used tear and pepper gas against the inmates, a 20-day infant who was staying with his mother in prison, died.

Khamenei pleads for election turnout as Iranians call for national boycott

Khamenei pleads for election turnout as Iranians call for national boycott

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, asked Iranians to take part in the upcoming Majlis elections in a televised speech on Wednesday. His request drew angry reactions from Iranians on social media platforms who said they would boycott the elections.

This is just one example of a social media call by to boycott upcoming Majlis elections. The call focuses on injustice and poverty.
From the top:
"MP's car
MP's wife's car
MP's son/daughter's car
The voter or in Farsi."

During his speech, Khamenei called Iran’s Majlis elections, one of the fairest in the world.
This is while, Iran’s so-called reformists issued a statement late January saying that the outcome of the vote for 160 seats in the Majlis (parliament) had been predefined.
The Guardian Council has disqualified nearly one third of the current members of the parliament on charges of “financial and ethical corruption” prompting “reformists” to complain about the very few reformist candidates allowed to run for the Majlis in the February 21 elections.
Despite this, Khamenei praised the Guardian Council.
According to Iran’s state-run TV, Khamenei said that “attacking the Guardian Council was wrong” and that the Council, was composed of six “just” Islamic Faghihs and six “prominent” jurists “elected by the Majlis”. For this reason, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic said the Council was “trustworthy”.
In truth, according to the regime’s constitution the six jurists in the council, which are elected by the Majlis, are chosen from among the Muslim jurists nominated by the Head of the Judiciary, who, in turn, are also appointed by the Supreme Leader.
Khamenei once again blamed “Iran’s enemies” for defaming elections. He also chastised those inside the regime who said that elections were “engineered”. That would include the regime’s president Hassan Rouhani who indirectly criticized the Guardian Council for disqualifying members of his faction.
“They say, go to a store and choose something to buy, and if there is only one brand and one kind of item, then you don’t need to choose,” Rouhani said in a January 27 speech about Majlis elections.
“When you wrongfully say that the elections have been engineered and that it’s not actually elections but ‘appointments’, people will become disenchanted,” Khemanei said.
He called for Iranians to take part in elections if they “loved Iran and its security” and even if they “didn’t like him”, in an indirect reference to recent protests across Iran in mid-January. Thousands of Iranians, angry about the regime downing a Ukrainian airliner and denying it for three days, took to the streets and directly targeted the regime’s Supreme Leader, calling him a murderer and demanding his resignation.
Khamenei also said that elections would determine the regime’s “reputation” implying that a low turnout would mean that Iranians did not want the regime.

Iranians react

Iranians reacted to Khamenei’s pleas for a high election turnout and called for a national boycott of elections with the Farsi hashtag, #راي_بي_راي or I won’t vote.

The regime's News Network Telegram channel deleted its recent poll asking about upcoming parliamentary elections.
8% said they'd vote for the hardliners, 4% for the "reformists", 5% for independents and 83% said they would not vote at all.
